I’m Lon Chan, a Brighton based freelance designer and illustrator with a passion to create. Whether it be illustration for an advertising campaign, a logo to revamp your brand or a cover design for your latest best-seller, I love to make things that look and perform beautifully.
With over 10 years experience within the design profession, I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise creating beautiful graphic design and imagery for clients across the spectrum. I take inspiration from everything that is going on in the world around us and so I try to see and read as much as I can to inform me and invigorate my creativity.
I think one of the most important factors in achieving the perfect design solution is understanding the aim of a project from the start. With that in mind, I provide a personable approach to your graphic design needs so that together we can quickly establish exactly what you need and get a great brief. This allows me to do my best to create outstanding design solutions, for every project.

|Whether it be branding or brochures, catalogues or large format graphics, I am always working to create beautiful design solutions for my clients. Identifying what message needs to be put across and staying on trend to make sure all my work surpasses your expectations. Marketing literature, flyers, logo design, stationary, for print or emedia, I always endeavour to create the perfect design solution. As a freelance designer I work with agencies, companies or directly with individuals, and tailor my approach to your needs.||I used to go under the umbrella name Dirty Vectors Illustration, to differentiate my styles. Now I just work under my own name over at Licensedtoill, creating contemporary digital artworks in various graphic styles for clients as large as LEGO and Pearson to magazines and charities. I like to experiment with styles and am always trying to develop my work and keep my creativity up, as I believe that the more you create the more creative you get.||Having worked within a specialist book design studio for many years, I have a wealth of publishing experience, my portfolio is packed with projects from concepts for ELT series to pop-up childrens’ books and literally everything in-between. As a freelance designer, I’m continuing to create book covers, design and layout of coffee table books, concepts for educational publishers, as well as specialist services in realia and heavy photo manipulation. I would love to put my eye and ideas to work on your next book project.|
